Getting Involved with Semicolon Society

There are multiple ways to get involved!

  • Advisory Council: This is a group of community members that provides input and assistance in the activities of Semicolon Society. Meetings occur virtually with advance notice. No mental health experience is necessary.

  • Volunteering at Events: Anyone is welcome to volunteer at events, and mental health experience is not required. Activities may include running sign-in/check-in tables, distributing water and other supplies to attendees, and setting and cleaning up.

  • Mental Health Volunteers: Semicolon Society maintains a network of certified mental health providers and supervised graduate students who are willing to 1) Share their expertise in specific topic areas via provision of free community presentations and 2) Attend suicide prevention and postvention events as a resource of information and provider of individual and small group supportive conversations. There is no requirement regarding number of presentations or attendance at events, as any need will be communicated to the network to check on availability. Providers are encouraged to bring their business cards and flyers to any events as long as they are currently accepting new clients.
